Floorball in Kenya

Floorball has been played in Kenya for a few years. The early adopters were the Swedish School andĀ Impala Club in NairobiĀ and the Mombasa Academy. Swiss NGO Floorball for All provided professional coaches training course in August 2015. They also donated a few sets of sticks and other floorball equipment.

Floorball Federation of Kenya (FFK) was established in 2016 to promote, coordinate and manage the sport in the country. FFK partnered with Special Olympics Kenya (SOK) to teach floorball to sports coaches around the country. Successful coaches' training courses have been held in Kakamega for sports coaches in counties in Western, in Nairobi for the counties around the capital and in Meru for coaches from central Eastern counties. There are over 25,000 young floorball players in the tens of schools that have already introduced floorball into their PE program and/or run after-school floorball clubs.

Next coaches' training courses will be held in Mombasa for the counties in the Coast in February, in Mwatate for Taita-Taveta in March and in April in Kisii for coaches in the surrounding counties.
